Day 1: Arusha → Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park on a scenic journey of approximately 2.5 hours, passing through Maasai villages and rolling open countryside. Upon arrival, your safari adventure begins with an extended game drive through Tarangire’s remarkably diverse landscapes ranging from vast savannahs and riverine vegetation to seasonal swamps dominated by ancient, towering baobab trees. Tarangire is particularly renowned for its impressive elephant herds, often seen moving gracefully between the Tarangire river and the surrounding plains. During the game drive, you may also encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, Cape buffalo, lions, and exceptional variety of bird species, making the park a rewarding introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated site inside the park, offering a chance to relax while surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. In the late afternoon, you will exit Tarangire National Park and continue to the lush highlands of Karatu, where you can unwind after your first unforgettable day on safari.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater → Serengeti National Park

You will depart Karatu early in the morning, around 6:30 am, and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After completing entry formalities, you will descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater for a memorable game drive within this vast natural amphitheater. The crater floor teems with wildlife and offers some of the best game viewing in Africa. You may encounter large herd of antelopes, Cape buffalo, lions, and an impressive diversity of birdlife. With luck, you may also spot the rare and endangered black rhinoceros, one of the crater’s most iconic inhabitants. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated site inside the crater, surrounded by spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. After lunch, you will ascend from the crater and continue your journey towards the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through dramatic highlands landscapes and endless plains. You will arrive in the Serengeti in the evening, just in time to experience the park’s magical sunset.

Day 3: Full Day Serengeti Safari

This day is dedicated entirely to exploring the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. After an early breakfast, you will set out on an extended game drive across the vast, seemingly endless plains, allowing you to experience the Serengeti at a relaxed and immersive pace. The Serengeti is famed for its exceptional predator populations, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as immense herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles that roam the plains in search of fresh grazing. Throughout the day, your expert safari guide will tailor the route and timing of the game drives accordingly to wildlife movements and seasonal conditions, ensuring the best possible viewing opportunities. You may return to camp for lunch and a short rest, or enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wilderness. In the afternoon, game viewing continues as the landscape glows in the warm light of the setting sun. You will then return your camp, ending the day with a classic Serengeti sunset and unforgettable safari memories.

Day 4: Serengeti → Arusha

After breakfast, you will enjoy a final game drive in the Serengeti, making the most of your last moments on the plains and offering one more chance to spot wildlife before departing the park. As the morning unfolds, you will begin your journey back to Arusha, travelling through sweeping savannahs, highland scenery, and rural landscapes that reflects the rich diversity of the northern Tanzania. You will arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon. Depending on your onward travel plans, this may mark the end of your safari adventure or an overnight stay in Arusha before continuing to your next destination bringing an unforgettable journey through Tanzania’s iconic wildlife regions to a perfect close.
